The Chiatovich Meadow Restoration is my very first solo planning, design and implementation project. Working with Egan Cornachione from the Inyo National Forest, we set out sights on the north fork of Chiatovich creek where it enters the meadow. Our goals were simple, reduce velocity, promote overbank flow, and saturate the meadow with sheet flow. Simply put, borrowing a phrase from Brock Dolman of OAEC, “Slow it, Spread it, Sink it”.
