Located within the Chiatovich Creek drainage basin, Davis Meadow sits at around 7000’ elevation in Fish Lake Valley, Nevada. Another example of poor grazing and land management, Davis meadow suffers from ditching, diversion, incision, and drying. Taking on a large head cut relative to the size of the meadow, we utilized a combination of Zeedyk structures as well as BDAs to mitigate the head cut. We saw aggradation behind the BDA of more than 65cm within 6 months. Vegetation growth between the rocks of the Zeedyk structure signal healing and regeneration. In September of 2026 we added 9 new in-stream structures to promote overbank flow, meadow flooding, and aggradation. Stay tuned for updates as we go back for monitoring in 2027.
